You must first do what you need to do with you creatures. Then when your done, use chemeric idol to tap all lands. then you will gain life and the citadel of pain will hit the other players.

use soothsaying's ability and tap all lands to pay for x and reorder the top x cards. since all lands are tapped you get 2 life from well of life and scoria cat becomes a 6/6

the spirit taps all your lands each turn, preventing the damage from the citadel and giving you life from the well.

Make Chimeric Idol a creature so u draw a card and gain two life every turn

Tap all your lands with the idol, you take no damage, and gain life

you gain some life so you can beat your opponent with pestilence and you "morph"the idol so that the pestilence doesnt die :)
