Combos Utilizing Standard-Bearer

redirect creature damage from you to bodyguard. direct damage to you is redirected to standard bearer. whichever it is, mother of runes saves either creature

use unnatural selection to make opponent's creature type flagbearer & change standard bearer's creature from flagbearer (for 2 mana)

enchant standard bearer and it is protected from all damage dealt to it.

opponent's targetted spells all target the flagbearer. use pemmins to 'counter' the bad ones. then use pemmins or i.c. to get around flagbearer's ability when you want to cast one yourself.

+1/+1 counter must target the flagbearer thus making it bigger

your opponent has to target the flagbearer with all his spells that can, but the spell won't take effect.
