Read the text of Panglacial Wurm: "you may play", not "you may put into play". (This is a subtlety that is why wording is being changed in M10) "You may play" means, you can play it as though it were in your hand, mana costs and all; "you may put into play" means it comes onto the field, free-of-charge. Therefore, when you play the Journey, you better have 7 more mana available. - Painguin

Exactly why this card has not made every green deck broken with rampant growth and this card being "put into play"(of which it is not) it would be a turn two 9/5
currently i can only think of a few decks that could swing with a swing with a 9 power creature turn three
elf i dont know how but you just know they can
off the top of my head bant could physical swing with a 7/7
red decks have no need for creatures and if they are only at 9 damage by turn three something is wrong....

Very true. You can play it turn three by- 1st turn lanowar (or fyndhorn) elves. Second turn another fyndhorn or lanowar elves + priest. Turn three seven or eight mana, depending on how many forests you play. - apalmer3@lion.lmu.ed

easy black lotus,mox diamond,lanowar elf,forest.and second turn lay a land,tap elf and first forest,rampant growth,sack black lotus for three red,play seething song,tap second forest and diamond play worm turn two.if by luck you get this to pop the "force" better be with you. it should seeing how you can only do this if you have a black lotus..good luck with that. :) - GABBYD
